STICKMAN

“Stickman” has become Twist’s signature marionette. Twist created this beautiful string puppet in 1991 at The Institute International de la marionette in Charleville-Mézières, under the guidance of mentors Alvaro Apocolypse from Brazil and Michael Meschke from Sweden. Inspired by the Dwiggins marionette building method, he is made out of Bass wood and manipulated from above by a Malaysian style control that has 16 strings attached to his jointed limbs. Twist has been partnering with Stickman for over 25 years, performing together across the globe; from the streets of Paris to Carnegie Hall.
